O Fialho Tavern in years 40, House of Grass in years 60, Restaurant serving Regional Food in the decade of 70, the workmanship of Manuel FiaIho and its children Gabriel and Amor is today national and internationally recognized. Medal of Silver of Tourist Merit in 1980, Restaurant of the Year in 1989 and 1991, “0 Fialho” colect kitchen prizes in Portugal and in the Europe, it saw its cook head to be nominated “member of Honor” of some national and foreign kitchen associations and to receive the distinction from Better Professional of Kitchen of the Year. The long curriculum of distinctions attributed to this restaurant unequivocally demonstrates its contribution for the spreading of the Portuguese eat. Since the beginning that tavern suffered alterations,
being to point out in the decade of 60 the ticket the “House of Grass”,
where it adhered to the barbecue chicken. In the decade of 70, and although to have had always
present in its menus, it was exclusively centered in the Regional Food,

Évora Beans soup with Mogango In the beginning of its existence, the enclosure that now if calls for grémio, was a simple space where a modest service of meals functioned and where you of the farming they had for habit to congregate for an exchange of experiences and impressions. They had been these nights of conviviality and spirit of meeting that was lived there that they had given the name to this Restaurant. It belonged to the Agricultural Cooperatives and other proprietors. This space where the good art to eat fully is sublimada, was considered by the most demanding critics of gastronomia as one of the best small farms to eat in Portugal. The Grémio opened its doors with new management and one how many new features that promise to become its rich and still more likely experience. The new controlling of this privileged space are the Srª Dª Dina Potes - puts in charge of the part of candies - and the Srª Dª Maria Godinho - old and also the current cook who if puts in charge of all the other delicate plates that as many yokes already had delighted. |
