CLINICAL CASE PRESENTATION

54,5 cm multiple limb lengthening in a patient with femoral proximal focal deficiency Aitkin's type C and fibular hemimelia Hachterman type II (2000)

This 6 yo child and his parents refused amputation so this case become a life time job and a fight against growing of the opposite limb!

She was submitted to 9 major procedures, including lengthenings and deformity correction interventions, over a period of 11 years. The foot reached the floor last year (2000).

To finalize, she had a fracture of the tibial regenerate that was treated with a bone grafting procedure stabilized with a Fixion inflatable nail.

This was the evolution of the patient along those 11 years. Total lengthening was 54,5 cm.
