Dragão Quântico [Quantum Dragon] is a portuguese paper fanzine focused on Fantasy, Science Fiction, Science and Horror. Although its main objective is to promote portuguese native-speaking authors, DQ is also interested in introducing to its readership authors and views from around the world.

1 - Authors must first contact us by email [dragaoquantico(at)netvisao.pt] with an introduction and a brief summary of achievements. Please don't send stories or articles first! Links to online fiction or art are welcomed.

2 - Due to limited space, special attention will be given to authors not yet published in Portugal. Due to limited time, we prefer works already edited and published elsewhere (which we will credit).

3 - Every inquiry will be answered within a month.

4 - Submitted fiction must be in english. For non-fiction, english is given preference, but we may also consider texts in french or spanish. We are also interested in b&w interior illustrations, color cover art and b&w sequential art. The material must be within genre or somewhat connected. Non-fiction can be of scholar or fandom inspiration. Special attention will be given to articles addressing the relation between Science and Fiction. Please send texts saved as .rtf files, not .doc files.

5 - Text limit is 10000, 20000 or 30000 words; which means publishable in one issue or serializable in up to three issues.

6 - Unfortunately, DQ is yet unable to pay in cash. The authors receive a copy of the fanzine issue(s) where the work is published. They also receive a Word file with the translated text. Three months after publication in DQ, the authors can use this material (unchanged) in any other publication, considering that it credits DQ and the translator. Illustrations, done to illustrate stories or articles in DQ, can only be reused at the discretion of the artist.

7 - All published works remain property of the authors. Submission is an implicit acceptance of these guidelines and an authorization for publication in DQ .
