What the heck is GYM ?
GYM is an open source software project for enhancing the usage of Sony Network Walkmans. How many times you wanted to:
- Playback the mp3s stored in the Network Walkman in a friends computer and had to install SonicStage just for that?
- Open other computers Sonicstage, connect your Network Walkman, and seeing that you need "authorization" tricks!
(IN FACT I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHAT THAT WAS ALL ABOUT...).
- Playback in SonicStage mp3s that were transfered into the Network Walkman using MP3 File Manager? (at least this one doesn't work with me)
- Wanted to backup or copy mp3s from your Network Walkman into your or someone elses hardrive?
From how long did you wished to:
- Edit and play your player bookmarks on the computer.
- Create and Manage playlists of tracks already in the player.

Got the idea of what this allows you to do? ;) That's right, with GYM you have total control of the music in your player!
And specially for you, a little bit of history... In a bar with some friends, talking about what was achieved (decoding mp3 tracks), we figured out the name GYM!
